ECMA Members recognise and play their part in supporting environmental and sustainability goals. This is through both corporate actions and by the products they supply.

Refillable gas cylinders are thought to be unique in that provided they are retested and inspected in accordance with the applicable regulations they can continue in service for very many years. It is not unknown for cylinders to be service for 100 years!

Where there is a requirement for non-refillable cylinders, once the contents have been used they are able to be easily recycled.
